BIO
I strive to provide my clients with the best possible legal representation. My life and legal experiences have given me the breadth of knowledge and community network necessary to drill down on any complex matter that comes before me.
I'm proud to bring a diverse set of skills to my clients beyond any legal expertise. As a business consultant and entrepreneur, I know about the challenges and complexities that come along with owning and operating a business. Having worked in dozens of different fields over the span of my life, I can have intelligent conversations with anyone from VC founders to farmers.
I am committed to my community and have served on several boards of directors, including the Sedgwick County Board of Economic Development in my hometown of Julesburg, Colorado. I currently serve as a Co-State Lead for the Ohio Forward Party as we try to build a new, inclusive, forward-thinking political party to battle against our devolving political landscape.
As a former athlete and coach, I recognize the importance of teamwork, communication, and the tenacity required to win. I was a decorated four-sport athlete at Julesburg High School, competing in basketball, football, baseball, and track & field. My school won the 2008 Class 2A Colorado State Basketball Championship, where I was named the Tournament MVP by the Denver Post. I went on to play basketball at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, until injuries forced me to move to the coaching end of the bench during my senior season.
I came to Ohio to attend the University of Akron School of Law and learn in their nationally-ranked trial advocacy program. My advocacy teams competed in the nation's largest trial advocacy competition in back-to-back years, with all-time best finishes for Akron Law in both years, losing each time to the eventual tournament champion.
After graduating I practiced in Akron for three years, handling a wide array of litigation and other legal matters. While practicing in Akron I met my wife, Hannah, on the dating app Hinge. We were married May 28, 2022 in Niagara Falls, NY. We moved to Hannah's childhood home in Geneva-on-the-Lake, with our dog, Twyla, and our cat, William. We enjoy spending time together doing all the great things GOTL has to offer, as well as reading (fiction and historical non-fiction), watching competitive reality shows like The Amazing Race and Survivor, and watching or competing in all varieties of sports.
